Jacob was not a humble man. He was ingenious, self-reliant, and manipulative. He had a knack for handling things himself and he had learned to make things happen. He knew God and received the promises of inheritance from God, but he may have been too smart for his own good. His roots were right. His attitude was wrong.
I quickly learned that prayer was the most important part of our walk with God. It is our communication with our Creator where we learn what He desires for us and for our lives.
Prayer can be a beautiful symphony of sounds or a single melody of beauty. They are an impactful and important priority for our own spiritual walk with God as well as the future of our children. Let’s not only train in doctrine but in the lifestyle of prayer.
“And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him” (I John 4:16).
Throughout the ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ we find that He took time to minister to the lost soul, those hurting, as well as people in need, both physically and spiritually.
Some people are procrastinators when it comes to prayer. They pray when seemingly forced to pray by a circumstance or situation. Of course, that is not how it should be. There should be an ongoing, consistent prayer.
